What is The Write Room?

The Write Room is a free weekly newsletter, written especially for writers and budding wordsmiths. It was set up by Writer and Journalist Amanda Geary to share interesting opportunities with fellow writers – all in one place!

In her own career, she has found the best opportunities for learning and development, as well as for career progression, have been when she has been in the ‘right room’ – hence the name of this newsletter!

When does it come out?

Each week, The Write Room newsletter lists interesting links that may help you to develop your latest writing project and perhaps even help you to find ways to further your writing career. It is simply a helpful way of finding ways to encourage you to just keep going!

Amanda who..?

Amanda is a Journalist, Academic, Course Design Expert, and emerging Screenwriter. With more than two decades experience of working in the media, as well as teaching others to upskill with both their professional and academic writing, she is passionate about using digital media for content creation, championing others, and for all things writing.

Amanda also has a PhD in Journalism and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning, and as well as writing for screen, stage and page herself, has also published a number of academic journal articles and book chapters.
